That should get Madden to work in Windows 10. Make sure you always run Madden in this mode whenever you play. Run Madden in compatibility mode and choose Windows XP (service pack 3). If you don't mind sharing did you update via the web or physical disc/dvd/usb stick? Usually web updates allow roll over of direct X files while physical installs from discs/usb sticks sometimes overwrite the direct X files. Good to know, thanks for posting, you probably had the correct direct x files installed in Win 8.1 (which you upgraded to W10) and those probably got rolled over onto your new OS Win10 platform.
